The Animal Tracker (Wave 1 - June 2008)

This report summarizes results from Wave 1 of the Humane Research Council's "Animal Tracker" survey of U.S. adults regarding their attitudes and behavior toward animals. This inaugural survey of 16 core questions shows strong support for the protection of all animals. The strength of that support varies by situation and species, however, and actual behavior does not always reflect the favorable attitudes identified.

U.S. Public Opinion About the Animal Protection Movement

A 2004 study sponsored by the National Council for Animal Protection (formerly Summit for the Animals). This research was based on a comprehensive survey providing a detailed overview of public opinion regarding the animal protection movement. The research was presented at the 2005 Summit for the Animals meeting and is available only to current members of the National Council for Animal Protection.

Metro New York City Opinion Survey

Examines opinions regarding buying and wearing garments made entirely of and trimmed with fur, as well as agreement or disagreement with positioning statements related to fur. This was a follow-up survey to The Fund for Animal's 2003/2004 anti-fur advertising campaign in New York City.

HRC also proposes new studies and leads research efforts on behalf of syndicates formed by animal protection groups. These syndicates provide a way for groups to share research costs and results, opening the door for even small organizations to participate. See our list of proposed and past syndicated studies.
